Virovir 250 mg is an antiviral drug used to treat herpes zoster, a herpes zoster infection that occurs in patients who have had chickenpox in the past. This infection causes pain, burning, and blistering. This medication is also used to treat or prevent recurrent outbreaks of fever, blisters, and herpes in people with normal immunity and sores that occur from time to time around the genitals and rectum. It does not cure herpes infection, and it cannot stop the spread of herpes infection to other people.
